A native of Burlington, Vt., Petersen made the move to Austria, Europe to play professional soccer for SC Neusiedl am See 1919 in 2012 before making the jump to another club, ASK Mannersdorf. Petersen worked his way to a starting position and enjoyed a two-year stint with the club. While in Austria Lukas also spent a year as a youth coach for SC Neusiedl am See, facilitating the development of players who will later become candidates for the professional club team.


His collegiate career consisted of a two-year appearance at the University of Vermont, then in 2010, transferred to Hobart and William Smith Colleges where he completed his collegiate career.

Petersen earned his bachelor’s degree in Sociology and minored in European Studies while at Hobart and William Smith.

Lukas currently holds a USSF E License.

Fulfilled contract presented by ASK Mannersdorf. Participated in all required aspects of the agreed contract including vigorous training sessions, strength trainings, matches and multiple team events.

     SC Neusidl am See 1919—Neusiedl am See, Austria                   6/2012 – 6/2013

Fulfilled contract presented by SC Neusiedl am See. Took part in vigorous daily practice, refining skills in passing, shooting, quickness, and team tactics. Participated in all team events.

Responsible for developing young players, some of whom become candidates for the professional club team and sign contracts when they grow older. Demonstrated ability to plan youth soccer tournaments including logistics, scheduling, and transportation. Weekly contact with parents and players.

Successfully taught basic soccer skills and team building to beginning youth soccer players. Effectively communicated with parents on a weekly biases around scheduling, tournaments and skill development.
